ACG – Library extension
The brief was to extend the lower level of John S. Bailey Library and create private study rooms, group study rooms and a multi-use conference-classroom.
The new study rooms occupy the area that previously was a ground level gallery, underneath the distinct overhanging concrete beams that characterize the building. The new construction is built with metal and glass in order blend in with the existing structure and to maximize the garden views and the natural light.
The materials and colors were carefully chosen to create a continuity
with the natural environment.
